Post-Doctoral Fellow (Plant-based Milks)

A candidate is sought for a Post-Doctorate Fellow within the Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan within the Protein Quality and Utilization group led by Dr. Michael Nickerson. The research opportunity will focus on the development of innovative plant-based milks with unique protein and flavour profiles, stemming from ingredient characterization to processing and end-use quality evaluation. Knowledge of food chemistry, with emphases on plant protein functionality and emulsion science would be considered an asset. The incumbent will contribute to the experimental design, conduct experiments, analyze, and interpret data, prepare reports, and submit manuscripts for peer review publication.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should process a Ph.D. in Food Science or closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a food chemistry background with emphasis on plant proteins and/or emulsion science. Someone with good communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team is essential.
