Find out about our purpose, values and principles here. Mohammad Mazhab-Jafari lab at Princess Margaret Cancer Center is recruiting a Post Doctoral Fellow. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral research fellow to join our protein structure and function laboratory to study the structure and function of fatty acid synthases. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, utilizing cutting-edge techniques to investigate the structure and function of these essential enzymes. Responsabilities:

  • Design and execute experiments to determine the structure and function of fatty acid synthases using biochemical and biophysical techniques.
  • Develop new assays and protocols for studying the activity of these enzymes.
  • Collaborate with other researchers in the lab to advance projects and achieve project goals.
  • Analyze experimental data and interpret results to generate hypotheses.
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and prepare manuscripts for publication.
  • Train and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques.

Qualifications:
  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field within the past five years.
  • Strong background in protein structure and function research, with experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
  • Proficiency in biochemical and high-resolution structure biology techniques. Familiarity with electron cryomicroscopy is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals is a plus.
