The Canada Research Chair in Innovations for Youth Mental Health is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity at the intersections of Mental Health Services and Technology (ymhtech.com). The Chair is led by Dr. Shalini Lal, Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal; Principal Scientist at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Center (CRCHUM); and Associate Researcher at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute (affiliated with McGill University). Our projects are funded through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canada Research Chairs program, and several other organizations. Projects are conducted in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., youth, service providers, researchers, technology industry) from Canada and internationally. Location: University of Montreal, CRCHUM, Douglas Mental Health University Institute, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Canadian and international candidates are welcome to apply. *Completing the postdoctoral fellowship remotely within North America can be discussed. Description: The postdoctoral fellow will work on projects within the Lab (ymhtech.com) that involve the development, implementation, and evaluation of health services and innovations to improve the mental health and well-being of youth. Under the supervision of the Canada Research Chair, the postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the planning or implementation of research projects, writing scientific articles, contributing to grants, participating in research dissemination activities, and supervision of students and junior staff. Examples of projects include: 1) PRISM-AOM, a services innovation research project that involves developing and pilot-testing an online referral pathway providing rapid and direct access to youth mental health services; 2) HORYZONS-Canada, a services innovation research project, in collaboration with ORYGEN and the University of Melbourne, aiming to adapt, implement, and evaluate an online therapy intervention to support recovery and prevent relapse from psychosis. The intervention integrates strengths-based therapeutic activities, social networking, clinical and peer support. Both projects are funded through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Qualifications Completion of a doctoral (PhD) degree (or soon to be conferred) relevant to mental health (e.g., public health, rehabilitation sciences, psychology, epidemiology, or a related field). Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methodology and related applications (e.g., SPSS, ATLAS.ti). Experience with publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts. Fluency in written and oral English (French is an asset). Experience in health services research, ehealth, public health, psychology, or related fields. Collaborative communication style. Ability to multitask, set priorities, meet deadlines, adapt, and manage projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Computer and data management skills with proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other software.
