This on-site role, based in Truro, NS, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advanced research in biomass valorization. Under the supervision of Dr. Quan He, the selected candidate will focus on laboratory work and data analysis involving the preparation and characterization of biochar/hydrochar as well as synthesis and application of catalysts. Further, the role presents a unique chance to participate in academic activities, including mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Educational Requirement: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Chemistry, or closely relevant fields.
Research Expertise: Demonstrated ability in designing, leading, and executing scientific projects, including proposal preparation. Experience in hydrothermal carbonization, hydrothermal liquefaction, pyrolysis, catalysis, and photocatalysis is vital.
Laboratory Skills: Proven experience with laboratory equipment, techniques, and technologies in biomass research.
Instrumental Analysis: Proficiency with HPLC, GC-MS, Elemental Analyzer, ICP and TGA etc.
Scientific Writing: Experience in scientific writing, publishing, and dissemination of research findings.
Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
Salary Range/Pay Rate $40,000 to $50,000
