Porter
As a Porter at Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, you will be the first friendly face our Guests see. Your smile, professionalism, and knowledge of the hotel will create a warm and memorable welcome. You will assist Guests with their luggage, guide them through hotel amenities, and ensure a seamless arrival experience.

What You Will Be Doing:
Consistently provide professional, friendly, and personalized service to all guests
Foster strong, loyal guest relationships by delivering thoughtful and attentive service in every interaction
Ensure smooth operations by working closely with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Central Services, and Fairmont Gold
Efficiently address guest issues, ensuring proper logging and follow-up
Use Alice reservation software to manage guest requests through various channels (phone, email, text, in-person)
Stay up-to-date on Vancouver's attractions, restaurants, and local activities, sharing this knowledge with guests
Help with guest mail, messages, and any other plans or arrangements during their stay
Actively promote and sell hotel services and offerings from our suppliers
Assist with the care and supervision of our Canine Ambassador
Ensure the lobby remains in top condition, reporting issues and entering work orders promptly
Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment
Abide by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures, and code of ethics
Assist leadership with tasks and operations, including other duties within the Front Office department
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Previous customer service experience required; prior Bellperson/Porter experience is an asset.
Service-focused personality with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication, professional presentation, and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Metro Vancouver, its history, activities, and attractions.
Valid unrestricted Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
Highly responsible, reliable, and able to remain calm and courteous at all times.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs, ladders, and ramps
