Working for the newly formed Office of Public Engagement, the Engagement Analyst provides evaluation and impact analysis to support the organization\'s public engagement activities. In this role, the incumbent will analyze data, create reports and dashboards, oversee lists of interested, affected, and relevant publics, manage an online engagement platform, and perform other tasks as required.
The incumbent will participate on project teams and/or working groups and will be expected to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and/or external partners or stakeholders.
This position reports directly to the Director of Public Engagement and External Relations. The work is provincial in nature; the incumbent will work remotely and may be located anywhere in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.Job Demands
Duties include, but are not limited to:
" Conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses to synthesize information into written reports to support engagement project goals,
" Extracting, analyzing and interpreting public engagement data to assist programs and departments in making decisions utilizing public feedback. Work may include literature reviews, environmental scans, capturing oral and written feedback from meetings and online platforms, social media analysis, and other qualitative and quantitative research.
" Preparing a wide range of information and data analysis products in various formats, including reports, charts, graphs, maps, and population health profiles, while ensuring timeliness, consistency, data reliability, and integrity of information.
" Offering guidance to staff involved in public engagement on research methodologies.
" Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and strategy discussions to contribute insights and perspectives based on research findings.
" Ensuring public perspectives are clearly understood and accurately reported in a transparent and timely manner.
" Maintaining a database of provincial interest groups and partners.
" Updating the organization\'s digital engagement platform, as required.
" Assisting with logistical support for public engagement activities, as required.Job QualificationsEducation
Successful completion of a bachelor\'s degree in Business, Statistics, Public Health or Social Sciences is required. Equivalencies will be considered.Experience
A minimum of two years\' experience is required in researching, analyzing, and synthesizing information, using analytical and/or statistical tools, and converting data into written reports.
Experience working in public engagement, health care, a government agency, or a research institute would be considered an asset. This experience may include developing written documents such as background papers, briefing notes, memos, summaries, or speaking notes.
Experience developing content on web-based platforms would also be an asset.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
