About Our Opportunity

The Office of Equity and Anti-Racism Initiatives (OEA) is seeking two highly motivated, energetic, and dynamic people to join our team. We are currently seeking an intern to work on policy & evaluation initiatives.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to help shape, guide and support the efforts to address systemic inequity and racism, promoting diversity and achieving equitable and anti-racist outcomes throughout government having a direct impact on equity and racialized communities in our province.

Primary Accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities for the Policy & Evaluation Intern Position:

Conducting evaluations of new and existing government policies and programs from an equity and anti-racism standpoint is a key role of OEA. Equity evaluation is a new, emerging area. You will support the Office\'s Senior Evaluator in researching best practices and developing tools to be used across government.

Reporting to the Director of Policy, you will assist in a variety of evaluation projects while providing support to the overall policy team.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have graduated from a post-secondary institute, such as a university, community college or recognised trade school within the past 3 years of their application.

As the successful candidate for the Policy & Evaluation opportunity, you must have the knowledge and skills required to conduct a variety of evaluations and present evaluation results in a variety of comprehensive formats including evaluation reports.

Additional Information

This Internship will provide the successful applicants with full-time work experience with the Nova Scotia Government. This internship is 12 months in length. In addition to the work experience, the interns will receive additional training in project management, writing effective reports and developing their career.

Pay Grade: PR 06

Salary Range: $1,936.88 - $1,936.88 Bi-Weekly
