About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, the Policy Analyst - Contractual Obligations is responsible for providing advice, recommendations, analytical review, and document preparation to the Department of Agriculture in the areas of funding agreements, policy, economic development and legislation.
The incumbent will lead internal reviews of Departmental funding obligations for program development and other projects by facilitating timely development, appropriate consultation, and proper navigation through the internal Departmental and Government-wide approval structures.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor\'s Degree in public administration, business, law (or acceptable education equivalent) is required, plus five (5) years\' relevant experience; or a Master\'s degree in plus three (3) years\' relevant experience.
Candidates will have experience and knowledge of policy, contracts, and legislative development in a government environment. The incumbent will have a proven ability to deal with complex processes, ideally through application of formal project management tools. Required interpersonal skills include a strong client service orientation and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Candidates must be able to communicate complex topics effectively in both written and oral forms; experience with public consultations would be an asset. The incumbent must be fully proficient in a Microsoft Office environment, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools. Experience with: analytical thinking; client orientation; adaptability & flexibility; effective interactive communication and outcome focus would be considered an asset.
