Police Systems Administrator
Lethbridge Police Service (Full time Permanent)

The Lethbridge Police Service is seeking a full time Police Systems Administrator.
The Lethbridge Police Service is currently accepting applications for a full time Police Systems Administrator in the Information Technology Section. The Police Systems Administrator will perform a variety of information technology tasks in support of police teams and the police service in general. The overall purpose of the position includes the day-to-day functionality of operational IT Systems including Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management System and associated database and backup systems. The role will also include the management of LPS’ video monitoring system and building access systems. The position will work closely with Infrastructure Coordinators, other System Administrators and the Help Desk Support Technician to provide IT expertise, provide analysis and recommendations to the IT Manager for future direction of mission critical systems.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 75 hrs. biweekly Wage: $50.78 hour |2022 Rate


As the successful candidate you will have:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience with the following technologies:

  • Project Management experience
  • Broad and deep knowledge of Business Systems
  • Proficient use of Windows-based Desktop & Servers
  • Internet Information Services (IIS)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of SQL, relational database design concepts and programming techniques
  • Working knowledge of general design of Internet, Intranet and server/client architectures
  • Working knowledge of architectural design of interfaces between databases and web-based systems
  • Advanced working technical knowledge of networks, Server/Client and operating systems
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft server and desktop OS
  • Experience in network design
  • Advanced working technical knowledge of local area network administration
  • Extensive proven hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Extensive working experience with data and database management
  • Advanced skills in documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

The successful candidate is required to consent to a police security clearance, which includes the voluntary completion and submission of a personal disclosure form (lifestyle questionnaire), criminal and police records check, reference checks.

  • Completion of a Psychometric Assessment
  • Security Clearance Check will be conducted
  • Successful completion of a Polygraph Examination Procedure
  • A successful candidate(s) will be selected and offered the position
  • All components of the selection process will be administered, scored, evaluated and interpreted in a fair and uniform manner
  • Duration of the process may take up to approximately two months.
