The Medicine Hat Police Services (MHPS) is looking to hire a Chaplain to join their team and provide spiritual, religious and/or emotional support to all MHPS employees. This position will provide confidential, personal and family support to employees within a framework of non-denominational spiritual guidance. Our ideal candidate
- Experience providing meaningful, empathetic , compassionate support and guidance to foster resiliency and enhance the wellbeing of employees.
- Ability to assess spiritual needs in a sensitive manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
- Proven communication skills, including strong supportive listening skills.
- Available for emergency callout on a 24/7 basis.
- Successful completion of theological training from a recognized organization and be ordained/licensed in good standing with denominational organization.
- Five (5) years\' experience with serving in leadership in place of worship, including experience providing emotional and spiritual support.
- Possess and maintain a Class 5 Alberta Driver\'s license with an acceptable driving record.
- A management approved combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must pass a full Police Service security clearance as outlined in the Medicine Hat Police Service Policy and Procedures, including a polygraph examination.
