Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Level 1 Plumbing Apprentice to join our growing team at Josh & Sons Plumbing. This position is ideal for someone who has completed their first year and Level 1 of plumbing trade school and is eager to continue learning hands-on skills in the plumbing trade.

You'll work closely with licensed plumbers to assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance of plumbing systems while gaining experience in troubleshooting, safety practices, and customer service.

Duties

Assist licensed plumbers with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters. Help prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment for daily tasks. Learn to perform basic troubleshooting under supervision. Maintain a clean and safe work area and assist with vehicle organization and restocking. Follow direction on reading and interpreting simple drawings, schematics, or plans. Observe and apply safety procedures on all job sites. Participate in on-call or overtime work as skills and experience progress. Represent the company professionally and courteously on all service calls.

Skills

Basic mechanical and plumbing knowledge gained through schooling or prior work experience. Willingness to learn and follow instructions from licensed plumbers. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment as needed. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic math and measurement ability for layout and fitting. Awareness of construction or renovation site safety procedures.

Requirements

Completion of Level 1 Plumbing Apprenticeship training (first year of schooling). Registered plumbing apprentice with the Ontario College of Trades or eligible to register. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. Must provide own basic hand tools; specialized tools will be supplied. Police record check required as a condition of employment.
