Reports to: Sr. Operations Manager



Responsibilities

Monitor packing line equipment such as straw applicators, shrink wrappers, case sealer, palletizers, and bar & date coding machines. Ensure all supplies (straws, glue, etc.) are stocked and refilled for production. Manually load trays of finished products on pallets, prepare stock for palletizing procedure. Check conveyors prior to production to ensure equipment is functioning properly. Inspect operating equipment to identify and resolve obstructions to resume operations. Alert mechanic if equipment malfunctions and work with them to correct problem. Maintain all equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition by following proper cleaning procedures. Perform work in safe and efficient manner. Ensure all paperwork is filled out accurately, start-up and cleaning checklist, downtime sheets, and quality check sheets. Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP. Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc. Other duties as assigned.


Profile

Grade 12 or equivalent level of education Ability to stand for long periods of time, and do light lifting (up to 30 lbs) Ability to learn multiple pieces of operating equipment and basic trouble-shooting techniques Ability to work with and communicate well with others (ability to read, write and speak clearly in English) Attention to detail Experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing or product manufacturing is preferred Good knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training will be provided otherwise) Experience in a warehouse environment is an asset NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit.
