The Crack Detection (CD) Platform Performance Engineer is focused on measuring and driving improvements in the detection, classification and sizing performance of our EMAT and UTCD products. As a Platform Performance Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing, analyzing & reporting on the detection, classification, and sizing performance of our CD products
  • Performing outlier assessments, investigation & reporting (root cause analysis) of performance that does not meet specification
  • In collaboration with other platform performance engineers, define and develop the processes, tools and metrics used to assess platform performance, ensuring consistency across platforms. (This includes processes conducted by other departments)
  • Develop concepts and propose engineering and other projects (technical co-founder role) to improve platform performance. Provide technical support through the lifecycle of these projects.
  • Provide technical support to the data analysis function on platform performance assessment and improvement initiatives

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a degree in an engineering, mathematical or scientific discipline.
  • Have post graduate or work experience in a mathematics, statistics and/or physics domain and a high degree of proficiency in tools and techniques necessary for processing, analyzing and reporting on large data sets.
  • A broad technical knowledge of ultrasonic technology for in-line inspection of pipelines, including an understanding of the physics and data processing aspects
  • Expertise in EMAT or CD data analysis and reporting including user experience of data analysis and reporting software
  • Detailed knowledge of applicable standards on pipeline inspection, including API1163
  • Have experience in preparing and presenting technical material to senior stakeholders. In particular an ability to present complex technical information in a concise manner for those who are not domain experts
  • Have an innovative approach towards understanding and generating solutions to complex problems
  • Be flexible and show ability to work with minimum supervision on multiple projects, prioritize workload and react to changes.
  • Occasional travel will be required
