Join our team as a Platform Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the backbone of our technology systems. Reporting to the Manager, DevOps and Platform Engineering, you will leverage DevOps best practices to streamline development and deployment, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high availability across our platforms.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Architect and Build: Design and maintain secure and robust infrastructure and automation systems that support our hybrid cloud environment using Infrastructure ac Code (IaC), promotion pipeline, and delivery processes
  • Optimize and Automate: Enhance system scalability and reliability by automating repetitive tasks, monitoring performance, and identifying process improvements
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including System Administrators, Network Engineers, and Service Delivery Managers, to ensure seamless hybrid cloud platform delivery
  • Champion DevOps: Implement DevOps practices for continuous integration, deployment, and delivery, leveraging the latest private and public cloud technologies like VMware, AWS and Azure
  • Mentor and Lead: Provide guidance to other team members, sharing best practices and technical expertise
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, plus 5+ years of experience in platform engineering or DevOps, ideally in mission-critical, 24/7 environments; or a combination of education, training and relevant experience
  • Certifications: DevOps Engineer, Linux Foundation (CKAD, CKA, CKS), AWS/Azure/GCP certifications preferred
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience with private and public cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Linux systems administration
  • Solid understanding of monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Search)
  • Proficiency in Git repo and pipeline technology (Azure DevOps, AWS CodeBuild/CodeDeploy/CodePipeline, GitLab, Jenkins) and scripting languages (GO, Python, Node.js, Rust, Bash, JavaScript)
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting abilities and an innovative approach to solving complex issues
  • Communication and Teamwork: Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset, skilled at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen.
