Job Description

A global company of 30 years known for providing quality products and innovative solutions for the automotive sealing system industry has partnered with gpac to search for a Plastic Injection Process Technician. Summary: Ensure the performance of their shift by optimally adjusting production equipment to manufacture quality products within the determined performance parameters.

Status: Full Time Permanent

Shifts: Evening (3PM-11PM) or Night (11PM-7AM)

Location: Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada (Onsite)- **Relocation Assistance available**

Salary Range: $46K-$53K (Canadian) or $33K-$38K (USD) per year + shift differential(Evening shift $1.50/hour, Night shift $3.00/hour)

Plastic Injection Process Technician Responsibilities:

  • Install the molds in the presses
  • Set the parameters of the equipment (injection press, auxiliary equipment, robot, etc.) according to the parameters previously defined
  • Validate the dimensions of the molded parts in collaboration with the quality department
  • Complete the required documentation
  • Analyze and resolve process, mold and/or auxiliary equipment problems (troubleshooting)
  • Participate in the training of new operators
  • Comply with SMED, 5S, Lean Manufacturing standards and contribute to their improvement
  • Participate in risk analyzes and continuous improvement projects in an environment certified to IATF 16949
  • Participate in the improvement of the manufacturing process
  • Molds meeting customer requirements for delivery
  • Molded parts (car sets) respecting customer requirements
  • A capable process and mold allowing an acceptable molding window
  • The documents required for the start-up and control of the processes
Plastic Injection Process Technician Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience with injection process
  • 2 or 4 year degree in Manufacturing (preferred)
  • French speaking candidates are preferred but not required
  • DEC in plastics or processing
  • DEP in driving and adjusting rubber and plastic molding machines
  • Knowledge of scientific molding concepts
  • Experience in the automotive field (preferred)
  • Structured and systematic analysis
  • Constructive communication and teamwork
  • Physical Requirements: Required to lift to 50 pounds or sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, and manual dexterity.
