About the Position

Full time Utility - this is an entry level position in a large flour milling plant in Port Colborne, Ontario. In order to meet the requirements of this job posting, the applicant will be cross-trained in operational positions to facilitate operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be able to meet expectations within a reasonable period of time Keeping safety a top priority in everything you do Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with all required information Monitor, operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment Duties include but are not limited to, material handling and light maintenance Adhering to Safety Rules, GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety protocols is crucial This position also includes general sanitation duties following established GMP's for our food safety programs Attend and practice all required health & safety and quality & food safety training All other duties required

Required Skills and Qualifications

Must be able to work from heights, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and bend May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg Must be able to work in a variety of hot, cold, or wet conditions Shift work, overtime, and weekends will be required The successful candidate must possess good communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and most importantly perform various tasks safely and independently in a production environment. The successful applicant will be competent when working with machinery, including the ability to safely troubleshoot operational issues Basic computer skills, numeracy and record accuracy are also necessary to succeed at this role.

Education or Work Experience

High school education or equivalent is preferred. Experienced in working in a Plant setting.
