THE POSITION
Keyera is currently seeking a Plant Operator for our Simonette Gas Plant near Valleyview, Alberta. This role will support the day to day operations of the plant, troubleshooting, optimization and tuning of the plant’s processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with daily operations of the Simonette Gas Plant.
• Responsible for daily operating assignments on plant equipment and processes.
• Operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner using quality principals.
• Work with team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.
• Monitor facility readings, product sampling and quality control.
• Assist with contractor, driver orientation and supervision for on-site operations.
• Participate in review, modification or development of facility procedures.
• Support engineering and maintenance teams with various projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role, within gas plant operations. Previous commissioning experience is considered a strong asset.
• Diploma or Certificate in Power Engineering.
• Fourth Class inter-provincial steam ticket is preferred as a minimum.
• You have a strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
• You demonstrate diligence in following process and procedures.
• You follow through on commitments as an engaged contributor.
• You actively guard against complacency and challenge the status quo.
• You’re a strong team player with the ability to listen, learn and share knowledge.
• You’re a self-starter who is able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
• You possess proven communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
• You’re highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
• Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
• At the sole discretion of management, other combinations of directly relevant experience and educational credentials will be considered.
