About this opportunity:



Upstream Thermal Operations currently has an opportunity for Plant Operator at the Edam Area Thermal facilities reporting to the Operations Coordinator. This role will work with direct peers, panel operators, coordinators, maintenance, engineering, and support services to meet production targets and ensure safety standards are followed.


Work Environment:



The facilities are in rural Saskatchewan located approximately 70 km from North Battleford Sk, and requires the successful candidate to live within 100km of the area This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation

What you'll do:



Work along operations team to train and gain operational competency in each area of the facility. Proactively manage working time to assist across facility posts. Operate the facility in a safe and effective manner while working collaboratively as part of the operating team. Maintain and troubleshoot area-specific equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets as per company guidelines. Perform condition monitoring, including sampling and testing, and complete area operations records (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits, and required reports). Support maintenance activities and ensure on-site workers are informed of company requirements, policies, and practices.

Who you are:



Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:


Legally authorized to work in Canada. Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate, 2nd class considered an asset. Minimum 4 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, SAGD operations or relevant. Minimum 4 years' experience in the operation of equipment isolation, safe work permitting and hazard analysis.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.


For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
