to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 7/7 rotation.

As part of the Site Services Team, the water treatment plan operator is responsible for the efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the water treatment facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and the supply of clean water for various mining operations.

Job Responsibilities:



Operate and monitor water treatment systems, including pumps, filters, dosing units, and control panels. Ensure continuous, efficient operation of the treatment plant. Sample and test water to maintain quality within required standards. Adjust treatment processes as needed to maintain parameters. Safely handle and dose chemicals following established procedures. Maintain chemical inventory and order supplies as required. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs. Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Record and maintain data on water quality, chemical usage, and equipment performance. Prepare and submit environmental reports as required. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits. Promote and apply best practices for environmental stewardship. Develop and support emergency response plans for treatment-related issues. Participate in emergency drills and response exercises. Collaborate with environmental, safety, and operations teams. Provide technical support and information to other departments. Inspect sewage lines and heat trace systems for leaks or failures. Manage supply inventory and perform start-of-rotation checks as needed.

Job Qualifications and Skills:



Valid Class 5 driver's license Water Treatment and Distribution Certification (Small or Level 1) Wastewater Treatment and Distribution Certification (Small or Level 1) Minimum 2 years of experience as a Water Treatment Plant Operator, preferably in a mining or industrial environment Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards Experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders or skid steers Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and performing maintenance tasks Strong teamwork, attitude, and work ethic
