Position Overview



Cedar Valley is seeking a highly skilled

Plant Manager

to lead operations at our new 35,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Windsor, ON. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the plant, ensuring all production, maintenance, and quality targets are consistently achieved.

This is a pivotal leadership role for a driven and hands-on manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented food production environment. The Plant Manager will oversee daily production, workforce leadership, process improvement, and compliance, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations & Production



Lead all daily manufacturing activities, ensuring production schedules, cost targets, and quality standards are met. Oversee production planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring to maximize throughput and efficiency. Manage and improve operational KPIs related to yield, downtime, waste, and labour efficiency. Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and finance teams to optimize production planning and inventory control.

Quality, Food Safety & Compliance



Ensure all operations comply with food safety and regulatory standards (HACCP, SQF, BRC, or equivalent). Partner closely with Quality Assurance to maintain consistent product quality and compliance. Support new product introductions, process validations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership & Culture



Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team including production, maintenance, and quality staff. Foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and accountability aligned with Cedar Valley's core values. Partner with HR to recruit, train, and retain skilled team members. Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace environment.

Maintenance & Reliability



Oversee the maintenance and engineering teams to ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and increase reliability. Support capital projects, facility upgrades, and process improvements.

Safety, Sustainability & Continuous Improvement



Champion health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance and injury-free operations. Drive LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost optimization. Participate in strategic planning discussions to align plant performance with overall company objectives.

Qualifications



7+ years of progressive experience in food manufacturing or related industries, including 3+ years in a plant or operations leadership role. Deep understanding of food safety systems, regulatory compliance, and certification requirements (HACCP, SQF, BRC). Proven success managing production teams and delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, and throughput. Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience in process improvement, LEAN, and KPI management. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. A proactive, hands-on leader with a strong floor presence and results-driven mindset.
