Summary



This is a highly strategic role reporting into the VP, Operations and Supply Chain. The Plant Manager will manage all aspects of production, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Together with the Operations Management Team, they will lead in optimizing processes, improving productivity, championing our workplace culture, and improving the efficiency of the SQF system to demonstrate continuous improvement. This position will work closely with other departments, such as Finance, Logistics, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to maintain, update and communicate accurate BOM, KPI and Operational Standards.

Responsibilities



Productivity, Efficiency & Product Quality



Oversee the daily production and all plant floor activities to meet KPI targets. Direct the development and execution of SOP's (standard operating procedures), work instructions and one-point lessons related to the production floor activities. Facilitating LEAN methodology and continuous improvement through effective problem solving, internal auditing, training, and communication strategies. Implement efficiency improvement initiatives to drive world class OEE levels and lead the continuous improvement process through effective problem solving, internal auditing, training, and communication strategies. Manage employee behaviors to comply with the highest level of food safety and a healthy work environment. Drive a "Safety 1st" culture and serve as a key resource for the Plant Safety Committee. Liaise with Finance, Warehouse, Supply Chain to ensure accurate data for financial updates, inventory control BOM standards. Manage, track, update and communicate BOM's, KPI's and Operational Standards. Be a power user on Syspro ERP system: optimize the ERP system to meet manufacturing needs including: KPI's, labor and operational standards. Responsible for ensuring all employees are trained with the GMP, Food Safety, HACCP and any other relevant training required Establishes the processes to improve the effectiveness of the SQF, GFCO, Organic and Kosher Systems to demonstrate continuous improvement. Understand, participate in and support HACCP Plan maintenance and changes implementation Implementing and controlling security & developed emergency action plan and required procedures. Supporting R&D trials, recording results & submitting necessary documentation to quality team for filing Support all regulatory external production audits; SQF, HACCP, Organic, etc. Accountability for prompt resolution of manufacturing issues which are likely to impact customer satisfaction and overall company operations.

Productivity, Efficiency & Product Quality



Supervise, mentor, and develop the OMT (Operations Management Team), fostering a culture of teamwork, cohesion, and accountability. Support our hourly employee Training & Development Plan including cross training of staff in times of absence. Assist the OMT with a change management process to build organizational understanding of proposed changes. Develop, execute, and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions and one-point lessons related to the production floor activities Provide manager accountability in HR/Union related topics, employee: hiring, discipline, training in a unionized environment. Support team member development and provide coaching to support Chewters business, mission and values. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align operational strategies with company objectives. Ensuring and promoting a safe and healthy work environment through leading by example, training, assisting the JHSC, corrective actions and discipline.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing plant working at a strategic level in a similar position; preferably within the food industry Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or Food Science required. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the food or CPG industry. Proven track record of efficiency improvement success through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles including: 5-S, Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis. Previous audit experience with food safety/GMP standards including SQF

Pay: $140,000.00-$165,000.00 per year
