About the Position
This position has overall responsibility for the daily operations of a grain elevator and two flour mill units. This position provides overall leadership to the facility operations and is responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring/developing the team. This position reports to the Regional Operations Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production on multiple shifts, ensuring compliance with company policies, GMP\'s, quality assurance, and established regulations.
  • Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the facility. Ensure Managers, Supervisors and Employees are completing assignments as the need arises by ADM and that they have the necessary tools and supplies to complete all required tasks.
  • Safety Champion by promoting safe behavior, implementing safety programs and oversight of safety training requirements.
  • Develop an annual operation plan to include productivity, yield and efficiency improvements, automation and quality advancements and employee development.
  • Ensure facility is operating at the best capacity and all equipment and inventory assets are maintained appropriately. Ensure capital and maintenance projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage all production related expenses (payroll/overtime, inventory, equipment repairs and maintenance, and supplies).
  • Work closely with Commercial Management Team to help resolve problems with customers, customer service and sales personnel.
  • Work closely with Quality & Food Safety Management Team to help implement food safety/sanitation/quality programs to ensure that the facility is compliant with the law, regulatory requirements, and company programs along with continuously looking for improvements in QA programs.
  • Responsible for identifying and executing cost management initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable of plant operations with respect to food processing is an asset
  • Proven experience with High-speed production
  • Excellent communications, well organized, great attention to details, troubleshooting, problem solving and strong leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic PC skills
  • Shown experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and be decisive and results-oriented in the interest of maximizing profit potential
  • This position could involve sporadic off hours and weekend work should plant needs require it.
  • Able to work both in an office and in an industrial environment for long periods of time.
  • Communicate status updates and suggestions for improvements
  • Previous experience/knowledge in Wheat Flour Milling/Grain Processing is an asset
  • Bilingual (French and English)
Education or Work Experience
  • University degree (or equivalent applicable work experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Agriculture/Food/Feed manufacturing, maintenance and supervisory experience. Prior experience with budgeting, asset realization, and plant project management preferred

  • Follow ADM health and safety standard and report all unsafe acts or conditions
  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation
  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
