JOB SUMMARY:



As a Plant Controller at Faddis Concrete Products, the successful candidate is a professional responsible for analyzing financial data and providing insights to support business decisions. The Plant Controller will prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, and communicate financial information to management. They also evaluate financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position is based in Mitchell, Ontario and will be responsible for the Mitchell and Seaforth companies along with supporting Faddis North America objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Conducting Financial Analysis:



Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Utilize financial software and tools to perform complex data analysis.

Managing Financial Operations:



Supervise, prepare, verify, and maintain financial records, including journal entries and general ledger accounts. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and industry regulations.

Providing Financial Reporting:



Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements. Present financial information to stakeholders, management, and auditors.

Accounting Functions:



Monthly closing process (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, etc) Manage costing system Manager Inventory control System

Guiding and Mentoring Junior Accountants:



Assisting in the training and development of junior accountants, guide best practices and resolving complex accounting issues. Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to improve the team's overall performance.

Supporting Audit and Tax Processes:



Collaborating with auditors and assisting with financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Financial Advisor:



Collaborate with management to develop financial strategies, Budgets, and forecasts

Compliance Specialist:



Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements to ensure compliance. Design and implement internal control systems to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.

Data Analyst:



Extract and interpret financial data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may impact business performance. Generate reports and deliver key financial insights to aid in decision-making processes.

Financial Project Manager:



Actively lead financial projects, such as budgeting, cost control, and financial system implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of financial initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation a plus. 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or related field in manufacturing is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting Advanced knowledge of Excel and other financial software Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with financial reporting and analysis Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Strong Analytical Abilities:

Proficiency in financial analysis, including accurately interpreting complex financial data.

Expertise in using financial software and tools to streamline data processing and analysis.

Attention to Detail:

Have an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records and reports.

Thoroughness in identifying errors and inconsistencies to ensure compliance and reliability.

Excellent Communication Skills:

Effective written and verbal communication capabilities to facilitate clear and concise financial reporting and collaboration with stakeholders.

Ability to present complex financial information in a manner that non-financial professionals easily understand.

Leadership and Mentoring:

Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor junior accountants, fostering their professional growth.

Ability to provide constructive feedback and encourage a collaborative team environment.

Adaptability and Problem-Solving:

Agility in adapting to changing financial regulations and market dynamics.

Proficiency in identifying and resolving complex accounting issues and discrepancies. Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle as there will be some travel between the Mitchell facility and the Seaforth facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Office environment with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or support executive activities. Interaction with a diverse group of individuals, both internal and external to the organization. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment, up to 20 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and moving between different office areas. Occasional travel between the Mitchell and Seaforth locations is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $83,682.43-$127,290.45 per year
