Overview

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Gift Shop Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining an inviting shopping environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for retail sales, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience with merchandising or POS systems are a plus. Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them with selecting gifts and souvenirs Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Provide product demonstrations and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are well-stocked and visually appealing Handle customer inquiries both in person and via phone with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and assist in merchandising efforts Process transactions accurately using basic math skills and ensure proper cash handling procedures Support promotional activities and special events within the shop Keep the shop clean, organized, and welcoming for visitors at all times

Skills

Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service roles Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and basic math calculations Ability to perform product demos and upsell effectively to enhance sales opportunities Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and inventory management Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods Professional phone etiquette for handling inquiries Ability to work well within a team while maintaining a friendly, approachable demeanor Multilingual skills are considered a valuable asset for serving diverse customers effectively
