Position Summary
Do you love ensuring that everyone who visits Parkwood has the best experience possible? Reporting to the Executive Director, the Gift Shop & Tour Guide Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that visitors to Parkwood have the best possible experience while they are in the Gift Shop. It also includes scheduling and supervising of the Tour Guide staff and volunteers, guest surveys and logistics as they relate to visitors and Tour Guides. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a program to ensure this directive is met.
Tour Guide Duties
Implement a cleaning program for Tour Guides to ensure the Carriage House, washrooms, lobby, McLaughlin Room and Gift Shop are always tidy and clean
Scheduling and supervising all tour guides (volunteer & paid)
Ensure communication from the Tour Guides, volunteers and the office is ongoing and clear as it relates to Tours, Gift Shop, etc.
Research and lead customer service focused trainings for the Tour Guides and Volunteers to help ensure a first-class experience for visitors
Providing tours to guests when scheduled
Training all tour guides and volunteers on all Parkwood Tours and Gift Shop duties
Responsible for hiring and training new Tour Guides, Gift Shop team members and Volunteers
Key Liason between Tour Guides, Volunteer Tour Guides and the Office
Gift Shop Duties
Ensure gift shop is clean, stocked and restocked as needed
Merchandising the gift shop to showcase products
Ensuring all team members understand and are familiar with product knowledge
Support with Social media Coordinator requirements
Support with the implementation and ongoing management of the POS and Ticketing Program
Support with the includes physical inventory count once per year
Support with pricing & coding new gift shop items
Relay ideas for merchandise requests from visitors
Prepare Gift Shop for upcoming events to ensure there is a cleanly and welcoming environment in addition to ensuring space are ready (tables, chairs, cleanliness, etc)
Oversee implementation of the POS and on-line ticketing system
Researching new trends on local vendors to ensure variety in the Gift Shop
Marketing Ideas to showcase and create awareness for the Gift Shop
Guest Services Duties
When necessary develop and create Guest Satisfaction Surveys, tracking and reporting on results, which includes creating and implementing strategies from these learnings
Research like organizations and industry trends to ensure we are on the cutting edge of the best possible guest experience tools
Manage and respond to initial complaints/inquiries as they relate to the guest experiences
