THE OPPORTUNITY

Kryton International, a highly respected and successful world innovator in concrete waterproofing and durability solutions, is seeking an additional member to their Operations Department. We are looking for a new high-performing

PLANT AND FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all plant, building, and facility equipment. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and structural systems are functioning at optimal levels to support continuous and safe business operations. The technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a mechanically inclined Plant and Facilities Technician who has a minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment. They must have a Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related field. The ideal candidate must have solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance principles, and proficient in welding, cutting, or basic metal fabrication when required.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The

Plant and Facilities Technician

is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and safety of all plant and building systems. Key duties include performing preventive maintenance and inspections on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and water systems; troubleshooting and repairing equipment and facility issues; and maintaining detailed service records in the CMMS. The role involves coordinating with contractors, assisting with equipment installations and upgrades, monitoring utility usage, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.





Safety is a core component of the position--technicians must follow all safety procedures (including LOTO and confined space entry), use proper PPE, identify and report hazards, and be trained in fall restraint and other relevant safety practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

At least 5 years' related experience in a manufacturing environment

Education:

High School Graduate, Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related field. Certifications (preferred): + Welding certification or demonstrated ability to weld safely (MIG/TIG/arc)
+ Electrical or mechanical trade certification
+ OSHA or equivalent safety training (e.g., confined space, lockout/tagout)
+ HVAC or refrigeration license (if applicable)
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance principles. Proficient in welding, cutting, or basic metal fabrication when required. Skilled in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and executing timely repairs. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Familiarity with maintenance management systems and recordkeeping. Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Physically capable of performing maintenance and repair work. Safety-conscious and attentive to detail.
