What You'll Do

Conduct policy research, analyze data, and create maps using GIS to support planning initiatives. Assist in public, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement efforts by designing materials and participating in community meetings. Help prepare planning reports such as Official Plans, Zoning By-law Amendments, and site plans. Work alongside engineers, architects, and environmental specialists on integrated projects. Prepare graphics, presentations, and technical memos for clients and stakeholders to communicate planning solutions effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Planning, Engineering, Humanities, or a related field with the intent to continue pursuing studies after the internship, unless graduating. Candidates must have completed two (2) years of study in their program. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various communities for face-to-face engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to those pursuing a master's degree in a related field.

What We're Looking For

Someone curious, adaptable, and eager to handle a diverse range of projects. Strong communication skills with a knack for visual storytelling. Experience with GIS is beneficial. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is also beneficial. An interest in Indigenous-led community planning is a bonus.
