To do this, we need leaders at all levels of the organization who embrace a challenge, and believe in their ability to make a difference.About Our OpportunityUnder the direction of the Director, Provincial Programs, the incumbent will be responsible for providing the Director with advice and assistance with research, evaluation and development of policies and procedures that directly affect programs and services within the mandate of the System Integration xe2x80x93 Clinical Care, Delivery and Capital.Primary AccountabilitiesYou will be responsible to review and prepare policy and background documents, briefing notes, jurisdictional scans, and ministerial correspondence related to provincial programs.You will also be accountable to participate in working groups representing stakeholders; both internal and external to the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW), while adhering to current legislation and related operational budgets. Of significant importance is the analysis and interpretation of current research, literature reviews and best practices for the matter being investigated. Your research and analysis will be used regularly by senior department officials, as well as planning committees at the provincial and occasionally national levels to make informed decisions.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this position, you have a bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in a related field (such as Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, etc.) and one year of related experience;and/or government experience and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience working with the Canadian and Nova Scotia health care systems.This role will require you to have experience in developing and revising policies as well as the ability to objectively analyze and evaluate research material. You will have experience in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent) as well as experience building and maintaining working relationships in all levels of staff and management. This position will also require a high level of competence in written and verbal communication skills. In addition, you will work collaboratively within a team environment as well as possess strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.EquivalencyAn equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered.
