As a Planning Assistant, you will support various planning initiatives in the RM. Working with the Planning and Development team, you will perform work related to development, research, report writing, policy review, and community engagement. Some of your tasks might include:
- Perform professional work related to a variety of planning assignments, including the review and processing of applications related to permitted and discretionary uses, rezoning, subdivisions, building permits, approach permits, and OCP and Zoning Bylaw amendments;
- Undertake in-depth research and prepare written reports and presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders on issues and topics related to planning and development;
- Prepare communications related to planning matters, including newsletters, mailouts, newspaper advertisements, and other related materials;
- Perform field inspections to gather relevant data and draft enforcement letters as needed.
This position is perfect for students studying planning, geography, or other related fields.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To succeed as a Planning Assistant, you should have the following skills:
• Completed at least the 3rd year of a university program in planning, geography, or other related fields, with preference given to candidates studying at the master's level or near the end of their degree
• Possess strong people skills and can communicate (written and verbal) clearly and concisely
• Strong analysis and report-writing skills
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Adobe Suite/GIS is an asset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Work location: RM of Edenwold Municipal Office, 100 Hutchence Road, Emerald Park, SK
• Valid Saskatchewan driver's license (or equivalent)
