JOB TITLE

: PLANNER/ SCHEDULER

This position will be responsible to the Director of Operations at OC Transport.

This is a full time position, with a work week of Monday to Friday.

Schedule will be an 8 hour shift.

The Planner/ Scheduler is an experienced individual responsible for applying extensive knowledge in managing and analyzing complex logistics issues, improving or adapting methods and techniques, and ensuring efficient transportation and delivery process.

PLANNER/ SCHEDULER ROLE DESCRIPTION:



- The Planner/ Scheduler collaborates closely with managers, leads and subcontractors to drive schedule integrity, performance, and predictability.

- Helps to develop initial schedules, work plans, and strategies.

- Developing, maintaining and updating schedules, using scheduling software, to supports the successful delivery of medium? to high?complexity projects.

- Schedule trucks and drivers daily to maximize efficiency.

- Coordinate with selected customer/ vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

- Stay in contact with customers to understand incoming work and any challenges they are facing.

- Communicates with staff and drivers to determine the actual progress, update schedules and provide regular reporting.

- Assess schedule impacts due to changes, delays, and other events.

- Receiving orders by text, by phone call and by email and filling out the necessary paperwork.

- Track loads and provide updates to customers.

- Manage and track all incoming and outgoing client correspondence.

- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and add notes to the daily schedule for reference later.

- Resolve any issues or delays in transportation.

- Check load boards for back hauls.

- Set up drivers and start times for the following day.

- Permits. Knowing what our current permits are and ordering any specialized permits as required.

- Create customer quotes.

- Monitor database for customer account status.

- Keep the CRM up to date and all necessary data entered.

- Assist the team daily as needed.

- Lead by example in the behaviours and culture of OC Transport.

REQUIRED SKILLS TO SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE:

Strong planning, scheduling and execution experience is essential.

- As this position requires significant amount of cooperation with other individuals excellent interpersonal and team playing skills are essential for success.

- Strong organization skills with attention to detail.

- Needs to be proficient in data entry and have strong computer skills.

- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Must have previous leadership experience.

- Strong command of the English language - both verbal and written.

- General Truck / Transportation knowledge an asset.

- General knowledge of the city.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
