- Preparing legal documents (Affidavit of Documents, Trial Records, Notice of Examinations, Discovery Plans, Affidavit of Service, Motion Confirmation etc.)
- Coordinate with court offices regarding motions, pre-trials, and trial bookings
- Routes or answers routine correspondence and initiates follow-up as required;
- Open/close and maintain files;
- Arrange meetings, conference calls etc.;
- Assist with dockets and client billing, maintain accounting;
- Maintain electronic and paper filing system;
- Manage bring-forward system;
- Transcribes legal documents;
- Draft routine correspondence;
- Maintain office files/records in accordance with procedures; and
- Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere; and
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years Plaintiff Legal Assistant experience;
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma from a recognized institution;
- Knowledge of legal terminology and sources of legal procedures and statutes
- Experience with Word, Outlook, PC Law and Filevine;
- Excellent time management; and
- Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
