Purpose:

As a Piping Engineer at Worley, you will be part of a global team that provide piping engineering services to Worley, and its Customers.

This position is located in either Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver piping engineering services that meet Worley, its customers\xe2\x80\x99, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications on time and within budget.
  • Perform piping engineering services such as:
  • assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations, and reports
  • contribute to appropriate studies, analyses, and recommended actions
  • provide assistance during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. For example, write material requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and answer requests for information (RFI\xe2\x80\x99s).
  • prepare deliverables appropriate for the various project stages
  • assist with the preparation of proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules
  • identify report, and manage changes to project scope
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in piping engineering.
  • Communicate effectively with the piping engineering team and with all project stakeholders including the Customer.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
  • Assist and support other members of the Piping Engineering Team.
  • If required, act as the Piping Engineering discipline lead on specific projects
Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Four to Eight Years of relevant industry experience in the same or similar industry
  • Sound technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver high quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its customers.
  • A working knowledge of the fundamental requirements of piping engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • A working knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications
o ABSA requirements for design and registration of piping systems
o Knowledge of ASME / ASTM codes and standard related to piping engineering
o Knowledge of CSA pipeline requirements is an asset * Competent use of piping engineering specific software and relevant software such as the MS Office Suite of tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Experience as a discipline lead on small projects is an asset.
  • EPC experience is an asset.
  • Stress analysis experience is an asset
Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status in Alberta with APEGA.
  • Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Resident Status
