Do you want to be a part of driving the transition?Our Engineering group here in St. John\'s, NL is looking to add a Intermediate Piping Engineer to their team!What will you be doing?

  • Piping code review and interpretation; designing and analyzing piping and pipe supports (including formal pipe stress analysis), preparing technical reports and requisitions, and reviewing detailed design drawings
  • Working with other members of the piping team, and with other engineering disciplines, through work development; investigating, advising, and resolving design and field engineering problems
  • Taking a senior role in problem analysis, solution development, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Supporting procurement, fabrication, and construction efforts including through bid evaluations, communication with suppliers, documentation review, and support to offshore execution
  • Providing guidelines to designers regarding pipe layout flexibility requirements and support locations
  • Qualifying pipe support standard details including design calculations and maximum allowable loads
  • Responding to technical queries in relation to piping work scopes in line with the relevant standards and codes including ASME, ASTM, API, etc.
  • Coaching and supporting the technical development of less experienced engineers to develop overall capability
We think you should have:
  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering in a related discipline, with registration as a P.Eng with PEGNL
  • A minimum of 5 years\' experience, ideally in an engineering design office within in a brownfield industrial environment
  • Significant experience and knowledge of typical piping engineering deliverables including isometrics, valve selection, line classes, etc.
  • Significant knowledge of pressure piping design codes and standards with in-depth working knowledge of CSA, ASME, API and DNV specifications and standards
  • Training in Caesar II pipe stress analysis software with a minimum of 5 years\' experience in its use, along with experience in associated tools and methods.
  • Strong competency in selection of piping components such as: valves, flanges, adapters, welded interfaces, elbows, bolting, sealing interfaces, gaskets, pipe support hardware.
  • Detailed knowledge of instrumentation and structural design codes with respect to piping interfaces
