Job Title: Piping Designer

The primary purpose of this role is to perform piping and equipment layout in a 3D model space using Smart Plant 3D. This position requires a self-starter capable of working independently or under the direction of a design engineer to perform new piping and equipment layout or modify piping systems across various projects. The candidate will also develop necessary engineering design drawings as needed.
Responsibilities

• Prepare intermediate complexity 2D drawings from verbal or written instructions.
• Perform piping and equipment layout in a 3D CAD environment.
• Prepare design layout drawings and select materials specifications.
• Prepare pre-design sketches, schematics, and other drawings from general written or verbal instructions and field inspections.
• Carry out revisions to drawings of equipment and installations with only verbal information or rough sketches.
• Ensure quality and schedule requirements are met.
• Interface effectively with clients and other engineering groups.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience using SmartPlant 3D for modeling process piping, equipment, and instrument tubing.
• Experience in creating and modifying general arrangements, detail drawings, and piping isometrics from SmartPlant 3D models.
• Experience with SmartPlant PID for creating system flowsheets.
• Experience in an EPC environment with piping and equipment layout experience.
• Mechanical Engineering or a 3-year technologist diploma
• Professional experience using SmartPlant 3D.
• Ability to pass CANDU security clearance (PR with 5 or more years living in Canada).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Nuclear industry experience is beneficial.

Work Environment
The preferred work location is in Mississauga at the designated building, with potential work from Pickering if required. The position involves working in the office three days a week, with a standard 37.5-hour work week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr.
