Overview


We are seeking a skilled

Piping Designer/Drafter

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating detailed piping drawings and layouts for industrial projects. The Piping Designer/Drafter will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate and efficient designs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and modify piping isometric drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software. Create isometric, orthographic, and detailed drawings based on project specifications. Create typical, structural and seismic pipe support drawings Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and clients to ensure accurate piping system designs. Interpret and apply industry codes, standards, and specifications. Ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements. Assist in preparing material take-offs and bills of materials (BOM). Review and revise drawings as needed based on feedback and project modifications. Maintain and organize project documentation and drawing files.
Requirements:

Associate degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years experience in design/consultancy/operational environment Proven experience as a piping designer/drafter in industrial, commercial, or similar environments. Proficiency in CadWorx and Autodesk Inventor is preferred. Other design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Revit is also acceptable. Knowledge of piping systems, layouts, and materials. Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API. Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings and technical schematics. Hands-on mechanical aptitude is a crucial skill for this role. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact/communicate with all stakeholders of the project team, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications: Experience in food/beverage, mining, oil/gas, energy and hospitals. Knowledge of piping systems and related industrial design codes. Understanding of stress analysis (Caesar II/FEA) and flow dynamics. Knowledge of structural and anchorage design

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
