POSITION SUMMARY
:
To provide services to identify liabilities and risks on gas & oil pipelines using pig tracking devices with attention to safe work practices.
WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Mount transmitter into pig; track pig that has been launched into a Gas or Oil Pipeline
Verify pigs location and movement through pipeline using a transmitter and receiver
Watch for visual and audio signals as pig travels through pipeline
Set up stations and move down the pipeline in a "leap frog" manner
Continuously communicate with client
GPS Navigation
Learn and adhere to the procedures required for the operations of the division, including any new revisions that are issued
Read and be aware of the contents of the weekly operations meeting minutes and safety meeting minutes
Be familiar with, and abide to, all corporate philosophy and policies
Maintain the equipment assigned to you and that is used throughout the projects you work on
May be required to report to other team leaders when temporarily working on other division or team assignments
Train less-experienced technicians and cooperate with all other technicians in completing all job assignments to the same level of excellence and by the same procedures
Assist with all aspects of data collection and reporting by the requirements of the current procedure
Complete time and expenses accurately and completely, and submit electronic data to server by Monday 12:00 pm (noon), and hard copies of expense reports and receipts to be mailed no later than Tuesday of each week
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Class 5 Driver's License with clean Abstract
Intermediate Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PC Skills
Other Skills & Abilities
Surveying and/or GPS experience an asset
Strong math skills
ATV, snowmobile, argo, etc. experience an asset
First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, PST
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
Must be available to work away from home on shift schedules up to 12 hours per day
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be willing to sit in vehicle for long periods of time watching for pig to pass through
Must remain alert at all time
