We are currently looking for an experienced Geomatics Technician, in our Pipeline Integrity Group (based in our Calgary office).The largest city in Alberta, Calgary is known for its rich culture, amazing food scene and Rocky Mountains which provide ideal spots for skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor recreation. Summary of Responsibilities:




Working under the direct supervision of the Pipeline Integrity Manager. Duties will include, but are not limited to:


Work closely with our team on field data processing, job progress tracking, and survey plan-checking and computations. Liaise closely with project managers to effectively provide clients with excellent service. Contribute to examination of existing processes to determine what, if any, changes can be made to increase efficiencies in the field and office. Follow Midwest Surveys health and safety protocols with commitment to ongoing learning in this area. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Manager, Land Surveyor, or Office Manager.

What you offer:




Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree or diploma in Geomatics and/or Survey Technology from a recognized technical school. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will have:


Minimum 3 years' experience in the Survey industry, similar role preferred. Understanding of survey methodologies, land surveying acts, and government regulations as they apply to the practice of Land Surveying. Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of how GPS and total stations are used in the collection of survey data. Proficiency in the use of survey software including MicroSurvey.
