Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipelayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of pipelines for water, sewage, and other utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of City of Calgary Water & Sewer Specs, construction practices, safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Laying sections of pipe and completing connections between pipe sections. Making connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines and storm lines. Determine grade of trenching using tools including lasers and levels. Knowledgeable of City of Calgary specifications. Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials. Ability to communicate effectively with crew members both verbally and written. Backfill trenches after pipe installation is complete, ensuring proper compaction of soil. Demonstrates critical thinking and decision making, able to take ownership for actions. Familiar with OHS and Alberta Legislation, has a positive attitude towards safety. Follow safety policy, procedures and safe job practices, wear PPE. Actively engage in safety with crew. Work safely in trenches. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to supervisors.

Experience

Previous experience as a Pipelayer or in a similar construction role is preferred. Knowledge of safety practices related to excavation and trenching operations is essential. Proven ability to read and interpret plans/surveys. Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions are required. Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
