Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a
Pipe Layer
. The Pipe Layer is responsible for installing and repairing underground utilities such as storm, sanitary, and water lines. Working as part of an experienced site crew, the Pipe Layer ensures precise installation and alignment of piping systems, following construction plans and safety regulations.
Pipe Layer - Key Responsibilities:
Install underground piping systems, including water mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and other utilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine pipe positioning and alignment
Operate or work around heavy equipment to position and lay pipe accurately
Measure and cut pipes to required lengths, ensuring tight seals and proper connections
Check slopes, elevations, and pipe grades using lasers and levels
Backfill and compact trenches after pipe installation
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized worksite
Follow safety regulations and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Assist the Foreman and crew with other site-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a pipe layer or in a similar role within the construction industry
Must have experience working with sewer and water mains.
Knowledge of pipe systems (PVC, HDPE, concrete, etc.) and installation procedures
Ability to interpret construction drawings and layout piping systems
Comfortable working in trenches and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
Strong understanding of workplace safety and trenching protocols
Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
Experience using laser levels and other layout tools is an asset
Valid G-class driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in the GTA
