As a Pickleball Program Support Specialist,
you'll be at the heart of one of the JCC's most popular and fastest growing programs. You'll help create a welcoming, safe, and well-organized pickleball experience where members feel supported and excited to return. From setting up courts and hosting open play to guiding participants and keeping programs running smoothly, you'll be a friendly, knowledgeable presence on the floor. This role is ideal for someone energetic, people-focused, and passionate about active living, community connection, and delivering exceptional member experience.
What You'll Do
Set up and take down pickleball courts and related equipment
Support and host open play sessions to ensure a positive participant experience
Monitor court use to promote safe play and adherence to policies
Provide basic guidance on pickleball rules, court rotation, and procedures
Greet members and respond to participant inquiries in a friendly, professional manner
Promote inclusive, respectful interactions among players of all skill levels
Conduct routine safety checks and report incidents or concerns as needed
Assist with attendance tracking, scheduling support, and basic program documentation
Communicate participant feedback and operational needs to supervisors
Collaborate with Fitness, Recreation, and Guest Services teams to support overall program success
Perform other related duties as assigned to support program and facility operations

What We're Looking For:
Required
Interest in or basic knowledge of pickleball
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfort enforcing rules respectfully
Ability to lift equipment (up to ~25 lbs)
Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Vulnerable Sector Workplace Screening
Preferred
Experience in recreation or customer service
Experience working with adults and older adults
Pickleball Instructor Certification
