We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care in a private clinic setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively with patients of varying needs.

Duties



Treatment Support:


Assist licensed physiotherapists by guiding patients through exercises like gait and balance training. Apply therapeutic modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and TENS while ensuring patient safety and comfort during sessions.

Patient Interaction:


Serve as a primary point of contact for patients in person and over the phone. Manage appointment scheduling, respond to inquiries, and update physiotherapists on patient progress to ensure cohesive care.

Documentation:


Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using SOAP notes. Assist in documenting treatment sessions and tracking patient outcomes.

Administrative & Billing Support:


Manage front-desk operations, process payments, handle client calls, and maintain appointment flow. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in billing procedures for

private insurance

MVA claims

, and

WSIB

, ensuring accurate submissions and follow-ups to support timely reimbursements and smooth administrative processing.

Reception Duties:


Greet and check in patients, manage waiting room flow, and keep reception areas tidy and welcoming. Provide necessary forms and information as needed.

Clinic Maintenance:


Maintain a clean, hygienic clinic by sanitizing treatment rooms and high-touch surfaces, cleaning floors, and ensuring proper waste disposal and supply restocking.

Room & Equipment Prep:


Set up treatment rooms daily, ensuring equipment is sanitized and ready for use, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Follow-Up & Patient Engagement:


Conduct follow-up and confirmation calls, reschedule appointments, and support patient retention. Promote clinic services and help re-engage inactive patients.

Customer Experience:


Enhance patient satisfaction by assisting with surveys, gathering feedback (e.g., Google Reviews), and supporting cross-referrals to improve clinic reputation.

Flexibility:


Be prepared to take on varied tasks as needed, including shift coverage, marketing support, and clinic growth initiatives. Adaptability is key to success in this role.

Qualifications



Previous experience in patient care within a private Clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding of diverse patient needs. Certification or training as a Physiotherapy Assistant is an advantage but not mandatory.
