Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to support our Long Term Care team in delivering exceptional resident care. This role involves assisting licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans, preparing patients for therapy sessions, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for recovery. The ideal candidate will have long term care experience , and a strong understanding of medical terminology. Duties

Assist physiotherapist in implementing treatment plans and therapy exercises tailored to resident needs Prepare residents for therapy sessions by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort Monitor and document resident progress during treatments, noting any changes or concerns Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment Support residents with mobility, transfers, and other activities as directed by healthcare professionals Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards at all times Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and healthcare team members regarding resident care plans Provide ongoing education to staff and residents

Qualifications:

PT Assistant course or acceptable equivalent Current certification in CPR/First Aid Able to work with minimal supervision

Skills

Prior experience, particularly in long term care environments, is highly desirable Strong knowledge of patient care practices within a medical setting Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy and healthcare procedures Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with patients and team members Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.43-$26.05 per hour
