Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Long Term Care team in Powel River, BC, working as a Physiotherapy Assistant. Apply today to join our team!

As a Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Assistant you will:

  • Function under the operational supervision of the Manager or Team Leader the practice supervision of the PT Practice Coordinator and the direction of a licensed designated physiotherapist to work as a member of the health care team.
  • Provide assigned physical therapy therapeutic interventions.
  • Assist in modification of PT care plans in order to enable clients to maximize potential for independence.
  • Provide functional direction to client and family, report relevant observations of client\'s condition and progress in writing or by utilizing basic computer literacy.
  • Manage equipment safety and inventory.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Completion of a recognized Diploma level Rehabilitation Assistant Program with Physical therapy components plus one (1) year\'s recent, related experience working with target population or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and access to a vehicle. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed.

  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Ability to motivate clients and to encourage progression through therapeutic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide self-care instruction and education.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
