Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.Recruitment IncentivesSuccessful candidates may be eligible for a $5,000 - $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Program Manager and under the supervision of the registered Physiotherapist, the Physiotherapy Assistant, as an active member of the patient care team, works with individuals, families and groups to help educate and promote movement, function and activity. Physiotherapy Assistants are responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of activities that have been assigned by the physiotherapist for patients coping with temporary or permanent limitations in movement and daily function. They enable clients to meet their expected outcomes by contributing to the implementation and to the modification of physiotherapy programs and services. The Physiotherapy Assistant also checks and cleans equipment and maintains treatment and storage areas.The Physiotherapy Assistant may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio within a 7-day service.QualificationsWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus graduation from a recognized Community College Physiotherapy Assistant program
  • Previous experience in an inpatient setting considered an asset
  • Must be qualified in CPR
  • Previous experience with orthopedic population considered an asset
  • Previous experience with modalities considered an asset
  • Previous experience dealing with physically and/or cognitively impaired patients an asset
  • Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with both patients/families and staff
  • Must be co-operative and possess good interpersonal skills to be able to work with physiotherapy team members
  • Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
