Your Opportunity:The Physiotherapist II / Adult Amputee Coordinator facilitates the adult amputee services to ensure efficient and effective use of resources resulting in timely access to services. Coordination involves close partnering with payees, community healthcare providers and patients, and has to be responsive to constant changes in the healthcare environment. This also involves dealing with the concerns of patients and family members, payees, and healthcare providers. The coordinator assists in identifying and addressing gaps in service and finding solutions in addition to holding a clinical caseload. The coordinator coordinates the Adult Amputation Clinic as well as clinically treats amputee patients in inpatient and outpatient settings; including clinical intake, coordinating patient services and GRH team members, working collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients receive quality care. The program area may be subject to change based on operational requirements.Description:As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.
