This permanent full time Physiotherapist II position is based in the Peace River Community Health Centre, in Peace River, AB. Peace River is a community of approximately 7000 people and services a larger rural area in Northwestern Alberta. The Peace River Community Health Centre is a busy hub for the area, and this is an opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings in a rural environment. You will work within a Rehabilitation team consisting of PT, OT, RT, SLP, SW, and Recreation in an interdisciplinary environment. You will have the opportunity to use your skills in a variety of areas in the health care system such as acute care, outpatients, and long-term care. It\'s an opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings with clients of all ages and you will have the ability to use the full scope of your practice. Supervision of Therapy Assistants is also involved. Travel to provide service at other sites may be required. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and benefits, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. A relocation allowance based on location is also available to successful candidates.
Description:
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
