Your Opportunity:In this provincial, remote work position, your opportunity to become an interdisciplinary team member of the innovative Alberta Virtual Chronic Pain Program and impact the lives of over 900,000 Albertans currently living with chronic pain. Reporting to the Program Manager of the Virtual Pain Program, this position will have a key role in the delivery of chronic pain patient and provider education and self-management tools and strategies through virtual group-based classes, webinars, and workshops. This is a temporary (13 month) position. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Primary Care Alberta.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 8 years' experience providing frontline rehabilitation care in a variety of healthcare settings (e.g., acute, community, tertiary). Previous clinical experience in chronic pain management and working with patients living with chronic pain (minimum of 5 years in the past 8 years). Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Zoom, Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn and utilize multiple electronic platforms concurrently. Virtual facilitation experience for groups of patients living with complex chronic conditions. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaise with various professionals. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships. Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in fostering and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with key partners within and outside of AHS. Ability to search out and evaluate evidence as required. Requires exceptional verbal, written and listening skills to comprehend, create and communicate concepts and options. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Preferred Qualifications:Facilitation training through Virtual Chronic Pain Program, Making Sense of Pain, Moving with Persistent Pain, or similar. Experience working on a virtual and/or geographically dispersed team.
