Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA)

to join our team and support our physiotherapists in delivering exceptional patient care.

In this role your duties may include:

Exercise prescription for our patients. This would include post-operative, fractures, motor vehicle patients, WSIB, sports injuries, and general musculoskeletal issues. Setting up patients with modalities such as ice/heat/TENS/IFC/Laser/Shockwave therapy. Tidy and maintain the clinic to the level of College Standards. These tasks would include laundry, cleaning machines, and additional tasks that contribute to an organized clinic. Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs Perform biweekly reassessment of client progress through functional testing Record functional and subjective findings in client charts on a regular basis Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals Conduct group orientation and education lectures and regular one-on-one education to clients Ensure return to work plans with client and employer have been made and documented in the client chart
Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Physiotherapy Assistant / Rehabilitation Assistant program or Kinesiology degree. Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred (students and new grads welcome to apply). Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer and EMR knowledge an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
