Responsibilities:




Conducting patient interviews and taking medical histories. Performing physical examinations and interpreting findings, along with documentation. Delivering family care including pre-natal, well-child, and elderly care. Sending prescriptions. Requesting consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics or other health care resources as indicated. Ordering diagnostic tests as applicable. Counselling patients on preventive healthcare and chronic disease management. Organizing follow-up and same-day appointments. Co-developing patient care plans with physicians. Administrative duties including form completion, assistance with educational material and health promotion programming, and other administrative duties as deemed necessary by the Physician. Ensuring that members of the health care team and patients are aware of his/her status of Physician Assistant while providing services. Ensuring he/she has the necessary knowledge, skill and judgement to perform any act that has been delegated.

Qualifications and Skills:




Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) Certificate of Registration in good standing or eligibility. Relevant experience preferred. Experience and familiarity with (PSS/Accuro/Oscar) EMR an asset but not required. Intermediate computer and email skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centred care. Respectful of patient confidentiality and privacy. Able to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner, deescalate conflicts. Able to multitask, set priorities, and work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work well in a team environment. Willing to learn, flexible mindset and adaptive to change. Self-directed, motivated, responsible, with excellent attention to detail required.
