Under the direction of the Activities Lead is responsible for:
1. Greet HHSR Community Residents, their families, and any accompanying guests with a warm, empathetic demeanor and a genuine eagerness to assist.
2. You are the "go-to" professional for senior physical fitness and wellness, including providing comprehensive information on health and wellness topics and assisting senior with their individual fitness needs based on their health conditions and goals.
3. Offer specialized services tailored to seniors include orientations for new senior clients, introducing them to the fitness facilities and the overall wellness environment. Coordinate with other departments to ensure transition for clients participating in new programs or activities.
4. Assist in managing the onboarding and offboarding processes for clients who are starting or ending their training programs, and maintain regular communication to foster strong client relations.
5. Is an integral part of the sales team and provides guided tours of the fitness training facilities to potential senior clients and their families, highlighting the benefits of the programs and services offered.
Experience/Qualifications:
1. Valid Personal Training Certification or Group Fitness Instructor through a nationally recognized organization such as Canfit-Pro, ACE or similar is preferred.
2. Post-Secondary education related to the health and fitness industry (Kinesiology or Physical Education) is preferred.
3. Current first aid certificate
4. Experience in a group training environment.
5. Experience in the Senior or Hospitality Industry is an advantage.
6. Ability to speak 2nd language is an advantage, please indicate on your resume if you are fluent in another language.
Position Requirements:
Must have a comprehensive understanding of and be able to execute physical training in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, including proper handling and maintenance of fitness equipment, knowledge of safety protocols during training sessions, and the ability to organize and manage client schedules and records. All interactions with clients should be conducted with courtesy and respect.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing client needs, schedules, and training program requirements. Be capable to work independently, taking initiative to address issues and make decisions when necessary. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial for effectively handling day-to-day operational challenges, such as equipment malfunctions, client injuries, or unexpected schedule changes.

Responsibilities and duties:
1. Training Program
Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure that the training programs are safe and effective for each senior client. Consult with senior client regarding any medical conditions, medications, or limitations that may impact the exercise.
Share information about the client's progress and any changes in their physical condition with the Health & Safety Department to support comprehensive care.
Ensure the safety of senior clients during all training sessions.
Implement the designed fitness programs, guiding seniors through exercises with proper form and technique. Modify exercises as needed based on the client's progress or any changes in their physical condition.
Maintain and manage the equipment used in the training sessions, including regular cleaning, inspection, and reporting of any equipment issues or malfunctions.
Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in senior physical training. Participate in continuing education courses to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
2. Resident Relations
Work very closely with the Health and Safety Department to ensure timely communication and resolution of issues.
Respond to clients or family requests for information related to services and concerns to physical training programs offered.
Informs and involves the Health and Safety Department in serious or repeat client/family incidents.
3. Sales
Receive request from prospect, record the information and forward to sales.
Take on one-on-one training with residents if required.
4. Other
Conduct annual resident satisfaction survey.
